Home Sweet Home

Hello everyone!

It’s been a while since my last post, what with moving again and all. So this one is well over due, but I’m very glad to tell you all that me and Luke are happily settled into our lovely little flat in St Margarets.

The move went surprisingly smoothly and after a lot of ‘tiresome’ trips up and down 3 flights of stairs, one very very long trip (expedition) around Ikea, more lugging of boxes up 3 flights of stairs and a few tricky days deciding where to place my-er avid collection of jugs, doilies and bric-a-brac; we are moved in, unpacked and happy to be finally living together in the big smoke! 17 The Barons is ours and we love it : )

Here’s a tour of our little but lovely new home ….

We have a kitchen, eating and living room all in one, which is actually quite convenient. This is the cooking and eating side. We love the exposed brick wall and wooden floors. And we have a tall fridge, yay!

The craft box (most important), which im actually surprised all my stuff fitted in.

Typewriter corner, complete with record player and Nana’s favourite brass and copper jugs.

This heart garland is still one of my most favourite finds on Etsy from KraKra Craft.

To make the most of the low parts of the room, we had a clever idea and turned this book/display case on its side. And as Luke had double checked before-hand, it’s the perfect size to store precious vinyl.

The sitting and vegging out side of the room. Remembering a piece of fabric I bought from Urban Outfitters, we managed to turn a slightly boring brown sofa into something a little more jazzy.

I’m hoping to work some washi tape magic on the coffee table asap, to liven it up. It’s a bit boring at the minute, but who really can complain at £20 for a table? Does the job just fine!

And the bedroom. I tried my best not to make it too girly and I have promised Luke he can put out his lego.

There’s these set of cute ceramic drawer pulls from Oliver Bonas, waiting to replace the bog-standard black ones on the chest of drawers.

So that’s our new home! Not too much of an Ikea paradise as what I thought it would be, phew. It’s nothing extravagant, but it’s just perfect for the two of us (even if I am always puffed out from the walk up the stairs). There’s a few bits-n-bobs left to do here and there; as I’ve come to realise there probably always will be something on the the to-do list. But it’s our home and we are both happy to be here : )

We just need to start getting out now and seeing the real London. The Harry Potter Warner Bros. Studio Tour is definitely on the cards, especially as it’s now all christmasy! Yay.

As always, thanks for reading x

P.S. A super huge thank you to Mums, Dads, fellow Londoners and everyone else who helped with the move and for your kind gifts!
